We are having a "......Raiser"!

The Concerned Citizens for Stryker Schools is having a "...Raiser". Two, actually!


These two "...Raisers" will be held at: Mama DeLuca's (Subway is NOT included) THIS FRIDAY January 27th ALL DAY and PeeWee's Pizza NEXT FRIDAY, February 3rd 4:00 p.m. to close. Mama DeLuca's will donate 10% of that day's profits to be used by the Concerned Citizens group. PeeWee's will be donating profits, with the exact percentage to be determined. All you need to do is come and get lunch or supper (or both!) that day. There will also be "tip jars" available if you would like to make a donation. How easy is that? Gotta love "...Raiser's"!


Wait! You don't know what a "...Raiser" is? Good thing I have an answer for you! (Okay, I only have the answer because I asked the question myself!) Before I get to the answer, I need to clarify something:

During the election in November, postcards were mailed to every household in Stryker (there was the cost of printing the postcards and all of the postage to mail them) AND there were yard signs made(there was a cost of making the signs. The signs were distributed free of charge) to help get the word out. In previous elections in past years, expenses were incurred through advertising. The Concerned Citizens of Stryker Schools must raise their own funds for any idea that will cost money. (We are open to suggestions for things that are free!) That being said, one of the goals of these "......Raisers" is to raise funds to help pay for expenses to "get the word out". We work within the money we have.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!! (Or, in the words of the "as seen on tv" infomercials: BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!)

We have another goal for these "...Raiser's"! We want to raise awareness of the School levy: why it is on the ballot; what it means (there are consequences that affect ALL homeowners and community members if this levy does not PASS) to the citizens of Stryker; what can other community members do to help; and we want to be able to answer questions. For this reason, there will be members of the Concerned Citizens for Stryker Schools available to answer questions as you come up to either pick up your pizza or while you are eating there....or, we will even chat while you wait for your pizza! Hey...we do what we can! ;)

So, I hope that you will come to visit us and help spread the word....and enjoy some great pizza in Stryker. What a great way to spend a Friday evening....Let's go to a "...Raiser"!
