Great things happened this week at school!!!
On Thursday, February 2 the Elementary children, grades Kindergarten through Third, celebrated the 100th Day of School!!! What a great day it was! Each teacher "manned" a station where each class came to learn more: One hundred ways to exercise...how far is a hundred feet (literally using cutouts of traced feet!)....imagining what each child would look like when they were 100 years old...a 100 snack (which looked suspiciously like a pretzel rod and two oreo cookies)...celebrating with a 100 Day pennant!... visiting a "museum" of collections of 100 things...looking at pennies (100 of them make a dollar you know!)....and last but not least...CATS (hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, millions and billions and trillions of cats!!! If you know a Kindergartner, first, second or third grader ask them about the cats! They will understand the reference!). If you come to visit Stryker Elementary...check out the cats on display that each child made. Are there 100? This fun day ended with an assembly where the administrators received 100 kisses.....which may have been of the chocolate variety....but if you want to know for sure, I suggest you check with the administration... ;)
Friday, February 3, 2012 found the 4th, 5th and 6th graders participated in a Hockey tournament...an opportunity to learn teamwork, some healthy competition and not to mention the benefits of good, old-fashioned exercise! There was lots of cheering and encouragement coming from the Stage in the '57 building!
There are good things happening at Stryker Schools!!! Your support helps to make that all possible!! Thank you for your part in making Stryker a great place to be. There are others who wish they could be a Panther too!
